Sen. Ron Johnson is the Chairman of the Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs. Sen. Johnson's first run for office was in 2010 and it was quite a win; he won a three way republican primary and then went on to defeat progressive liberal Russ Feingold. Ron came to Washington because the federal government is bankrupting America. He thinks it is important for citizen legislators to ally with those who are seriously facing that reality. Ron's manufacturing background has taught him to attack the root cause of a problem, not mere symptoms. He believes huge deficits, slow economic activity, high unemployment and woefully inadequate job creation are severe symptoms of the problem - but not the root cause. The ever expanding size, scope and cost of government is.
The Charles Edison Memorial Award, the Party's prestigious award, will be presented to U. S. Senate Candidate, Wendy Long. Mrs. Long, like Sen. Ron Johnson, believes that the Founding Fathers were insightful in creating a government that exists best with citizen legislators. Mrs. Long attended public schools and Dartmouth College, Northwestern University School of Law and Harvard Law School. She learned the most about America during a Publius Fellowship at the Claremont Institute. She clerked for Judge Ralph K. Winter at the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit and for Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas.
Jim Kerr, currently heard on Q104.3 in the mornings, will be the Master of Ceremonies.
Press Credentials must be presented to cover the event.
