Conservative Party Chairman Mike Long Blasts AG Schneiderman for Condoning Dirty Deal

Calls for U.S. Prosecutor to Investigate

Conservative Party Chairman Mike Long blasted Eric Schneiderman for aiding and abetting the political bribe sought by the Working Families Party in exchange for its endorsement of Andrew Cuomo.

"It's one thing to talk about support for policy positions, it's completely another to provide $10 million in support to defeat your opponents - it's an out and out bribe and it must be investigated," said Long.

As part of the dirty deal for the Working Family Parties line, Cuomo called for hiking the minimum wage to $10.10 an hour, passing the DREAM Act, enactment of a statewide system to publicly fund campaigns and a Democratic takeover of the state Senate funded with $10 million from Cuomo and the unions.

Long concluded, "It's outrageous; on the same night Eric Schneiderman apologized for investigating the Working Family Party he condoned a dirty deal between the WFP and Cuomo. It's just another example of Eric Schneiderman putting his personal political agenda ahead of the people and why I think it's time for the U.S. Attorney to expand his investigation."
